Our A to Z Challenge letter today is “N” for NAPPING.

We entered Jack into the Fidose of Reality “Sleeping Dog” contest last month. He didn’t win, but here’s a selection of some of his winning poses.jacksleeping

But, Maggie May DID win an Honorable Mention for this pose. How can this be comfortable?

  1. Love Jack’s post #3 and Maggie May’s! Don’t know how that comfortable, but it sure looks fun!

    • She sleeps like that all the time…I don’t understand, but she seems happy so that’s all that counts.

  5. How can Jack sleep surrounded with all those toys? My sisters and I sleep like Maggie a lot, maybe it is a girl thing. Mom’s neck starts to hurt just looking at us!

  10. You know Boomer and Dottie have similar napping positions and I always wonder how some of them are even comfortable yet they snore away!

  12. Ah ha ha. I love the way they sleep. Sampson is the randomly weird sleeper in my house. When he was a puppy I took a photo of him with his head and paws hanging over the bed, he was passed out cold. Delilah, well for all her little quirks, she sleeps in fairly normal positions. 🙂

  13. Everyone who naps is a winner in my book. And I learned long ago not to question what looks comfy, dogs are the experts when it comes to snoozing.

  14. LOL! Those are super cute pics, especially the last one of Maggie May…too funny! Daisy sleeps like that sometimes and I always wonder how that could possible be comfortable.

  15. 1 & 3 are my favorites! 🙂 Also I have no idea why dogs find those silly poses comfy, it’s so strange!

  16. I have a feeling dogs are much more limber than we humans are! That’s the only thing that can explain these odd positions.

  17. Maggie May looks like she’s doing some advanced stretching techniques! Looks like it’s opening up her airway and it probably feels good on her neck-I need to work on some stretches like that too because now my neck is aching! 🙂

    • Looking at it seems uncomfortable but after sitting at a computer all day – a good stretch like that would probably feel good!

  20. Cute pics! It’s so funny the positions dogs can sleep in, but I especially love when they sleep belly up. You know they feel safe and protected then!

    • I know – it’s so weird when Maggie does it because she’s such a fearful dog. Well she used to be, she’s much better now, but she slept like this from the first day we brought her home.
mkob recently posted…Wordless Wednesday | NappingMy Profile

  21. LOL So cute and funny! I love all of those poses. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to sleep however you fell like cats and dogs do? You’re right, some of those just couldn’t be comfortable.

  22. Ha Ha … Maggie May sleeps like Nadie but she always sleeps with her tongue hanging out. Legs up in the air, head back, and tongue out … I though something was wrong with her. Nope, she just sleeps weird. Scared the crap out of me.
I still like number 4 for Jack. The way he is snuggling down gives a puppy feel to that one 🙂

  23. Maggie cracks me up every time I see it!

  24. Oh Maggy May, you made me laugh out loud!!! And, Jack, it looks like you know how to snuggle up!

  25. Both dogs are too funny….but Maggie does take the cake with that pose. I like how Jack is surrounded by toys in that one photo…it’s like he wore himself out playing!
