One of the few times Jack allowed Maggie in his bed, but his look to me is: “Mom, get her out”.
He got up right after this shot.
Do your dogs share beds?

And here’s SlimDoggy cousins Taj & Tally – they look quite comfortable together, but they don’t usually share either.

  1. So fun to see them sharing…..

  2. That is the EXACT SAME THING I do when my pain in the hind brother Monkey lays next to me in bed. He takes my food, my bed, my toys and pushes me out of the way when I drink water. Sometimes I am laying down and he will come and lay next to me, spread out – literally trying to push me out. So I understand fully… Now my sister Daisy on the other hand is a cuddler… I posted about us cuddling a while back – here is the link: http://piranhabanana.blogspot.com/2013/04/wordless-wednesday-comfort-cuddles.html

  3. Beryl’s personal space is slowly diminishing. She has always cuddled up to Frankie in the colder weather, he’s her private hot water bottle 🙂 But he isn’t allowed to cuddle up to her still. She used to growl at him when he jumped up on the bed at night but that is permitted now. Asher still isn’t welcome on ‘our’ bed so I’m interested to see if he becomes her hot water bottle this coming winter or if she still uses Frankie or shares her need for extra warmth with both of them 🙂

Lovely photo of Jack and Maggie. Perhaps he will eventually be comfortable with close contact but some dogs just aren’t! Taj and Talley look like they’ve always shared 🙂

  4. Before Rosie joined us, Jeffie and Rudy frequently snuggled together. These days either one will share with Rosie, but Jeffie doesn’t want Rudy close. A male thing?

  5. Of my 3 dogs, usually it’s Tucker who will snuggle up to one of the other two. Jasper will often get up and walk away; he doesn’t like Tucker in his space. Lilah doesn’t mind, even when Tucker uses her as a pillow.

  6. LOL Poor Jack, he does look like he wants you to help him and extract Maggie from his bed. My guys don’t share beds but when on the couch Gambler usually always has to lay on one of the other dogs. The girls don’t like to lay on each other but Gambler he has to touch them.

  7. No sharing beds here. We all can use any bed we want in the house (we do have favorites), this includes cat beds which I sometimes squeeze into and the cats can sleep on ours which they seldom do (something about dog stink they say, nonsense) but we never have more than one dog in or on a bed.

    • I’m surprised Bailie doesn’t try to snuggle up with her big sisters.

    • This is an anomaly – Maggie would love to share, but Jack is aloof.

  9. Jack’s expression is too funny! Ours share sometimes, and Luke especially likes to push his way in next to any of the dogs, and they all put up with it, as long as he lays still!

  10. Thankfully, I am an only dog so I do not need to share. Jack may have allowed Maggie in but I do not think he particularly enjoyed sharing (and I don’t blame him).

    • He was up and out of there before the shutter was closed on the camera – he never shares with poor Maggie.

  11. Haha! Aww thats totally the look he gave you to!!!!
Mika wont sleep in her bed, she prefers the carpet in front of the door for some reason . And the other 2 actually do cuddle together. Mika likes her space though.
    Happy WW to you! 😉

  12. Lol, poor Jack! Niles is an only dog so she doesn’t have to share with pups. My cat Vega however will just fall right on top of her. Nailah doesn’t seem to mind 🙂

  15. My cats share beds all the time, but they don’t like to cuddle up with my dog Ace and he doesn’t like it either.

When we have foster dogs or visiting dogs, Ace does not like to share beds with them. A few will try to lie next to him, and he just gets up and moves. Ha. I wish he’d cuddle, because I think it’s adorable. He probably doesn’t like it when I come up and spoon him, either. But he puts up with it.

    • It’s funny – our Sally was a huge snuggler – she always had to be touching us and spooning was the best. Jack and Maggie…nope – Jack likes to be near, but Maggie could care less.

  16. Mine might share the couch and touch in some manner, but it’s rare they share a bed. (Honestly, two are too big to share a bed!)

  18. “MOM!! Maggie’s touching me!” LOL Such a great expression. The cousins Taj & Tally are very good looking dogs!

  19. Sometimes I let mummy and daddy share the bed BOL:-)

  20. Way too cute! I love snuggle pictures. Bed sharing here is a little hit-or-miss. Cooper desperately tries to snuggle Emmett and Lucas, but they get up as soon as he cuddles up to them. Unless they’re already asleep, then they’re too lazy to move!

  22. So cute! Rita doesn’t have another dog to share with, but she’s been known to move into our warm spots when we get up from the bed. Or if we are in “her” spot on the couch, she’ll just stand there and stare.

  23. My current pair loves to snuggle up on one bed. But they’re our first pair in a while who loved sharing a bed…
