Today is the first Give Cancer the Paw blog hop and Pet Cancer Awareness Month and in honor of that, I created this collage of our sweet Becca who we lost to osteosarcoma about 18 months ago. She was a sweet girl, playful and loving. These are some of our early pictures when we first adopted her and some final pictures of her when she was pretty sick. She had a cute little blue flannel coat to help keep her warm because she was always cold.

Sorry about the quality of photos – lousy iPad photos.

  3. Cancer sucks. I’ve experienced it with dogs and humans, losing my Mother to breast cancer 40 years ago. Bittersweet photos of Becca, the last one in her bed says it all.

    • It was rough. She was a pretty special girl. We were so happy to be able to provide her a great ‘retirement’ home after 10 years of being a service dog.

    • Oh, good luck! How is she doing?
mkob recently posted…Give Cancer the PawMy Profile

      • Terrific! She had four rounds of chemotherapy after amputation and is doing wonderfully now! Hops around on three legs like she never had that fourth!

        • That’s wonderful! We had to stop chemo for Becca – she got pretty sick, but she was older and weakened to begin with. Glad that Jill is doing so well. Love her name…Jill.

          • ohhh I’m sorry to hear that 🙁 Lucky for us, Jill did wonderfully on IV chemo. She started a pill form of chemo afterwards that she did not do well on (lost a lot of weight) but lucky again for us, she doesnt need that one, it was just an extra precaution.

and thanks! – I had her brother first and his name is Jack….so naturally her name had to be Jill 🙂

Such a great sounding blog hop. Our knowledge on cancer is pretty limited, we’re happy to help in any way we can.
