Some Fun Dog & Fitness Infographics

We love infographics here at SlimDoggy. They are such a fun way to get across an important message or deliver facts in a fun manner. We’ve done several of our own infographics:

  • SlimDoggy on Pet Obesity
  • SlimDoggy Senior Fit Tips
  • SlimDoggy Fit Tips #1
  • Tips for Keeping your DogFit #2
  • SlimDoggy Thanksgiving Fit Tips

They are lots of fun to create, but lots of work too, so we haven’t done one in awhile. We were recently contacted by the folks at Sainsbury’s Bank Money Matters Blog, (a provider of pet insurance) who just released a fun new infographic on dog’s well-being with descriptions of some great new canine sports that are becoming increasingly popular and tips on indoor and outdoor exercise. We love to learn about new activities we can engage our dogs in, so we thought it was a natural for us. What do you think – have you tried any of these?

We are joining the Thursday Barks and Bytes Blog Hop Co-hosted by our friends at 2Brown Dogs and Heart Like a Dog. Grab the badge and join the fun!

  1. Are specific breeds of dog more suitable for certain exercises in the infographic, or do you think all sorts of dogs can do any of them? 🙂

    • I think any dog can do most anything, but certainly some dogs are more adept at certain things than others. A dog who hates water isn’t going to like dock diving. A big dog like a Newfoundland isn’t going to take to agility or flyball. But every dog, just like every person can excel at something, just finding their inner incentive is the key. A dog like Donna is probably going to take to any of these.

  3. Nothing like a good run with your pup – it’s great for both parties and requires no additional equipment. Just get up and go!

  4. Hi Y’all!

We’ve done lots of those things, but not deep diving.

Did you know when my Humans worked in Canada that it was legal to shoot any dog chasing wild deer or your farm animals? Here at home in the southeastern U.S. they hunt and flush deer, pigs and bear with dogs. What a difference!

    Y’all come by now,

  8. The flyball seriously scares me. The impact seems so high, I wouldn’t dare have my dog do this.

  10. I’ve heard of a lot of those sports, but bikejoring and treibball were totally new to me. It’s great how many there are to choose from! I’m still hoping for agility or dock diving for Luke. I’ve seen him do some pretty good jumps too, which makes me think he could be a disc dog too! It will be fun to see what he takes to.

  12. I must say these are the fun ways to keep your dog fit and active. I have never tried diving, will give it a try. Dogs love all these fitness games which also ensure that he maintains strong core muscles.
