We didn’t have much mischief to write about last month while we were doing the A to Z Challenge. We tried to tie each post to something mischievous, but that didn’t always work out. Today, we finally have a little bit of mischief to share.
A few weeks ago, we did a photo shoot for a news segment on wearable pet technology. One of the shots the filmmaker wanted was Jack playing fetch. Well, even though he is a retriever, Jack doesn’t play fetch. Well, I should amend that, Jack plays his own version of fetch which is a little different.
He’ll stand there and act like he wants nothing more than to chase that toy grab it and bring it back to you, just like any normal retriever would. But Jack has no interest in bringing it back to you, nor does he want to turn it into a game of chase which many dogs like to do.
No, Jack runs, grabs whatever it is you’ve tossed and then runs back into the house, into his bed with the toy.
Joe, the guy doing the filming got himself all set up to film Jack running to fetch the toy and coming back to Steve, even though we warned him he probably wouldn’t do that. And sure enough – he grabs the toy and runs right by us and into the house with his toy. Where he proceeds to chew it up. That’s his idea of fetch.
Joe filmed it anyways, but it’s probably not the story they wanted to tell. Some retriever you are Jack!
