Pedigree Adult Complete Nutrition Dog Food Recall

The Mars Company, owner of the Pedigree pet food brand, has announced today a voluntary recall of their Pedigree Adult Complete Nutrition dry dog food due to the possible presence of a foreign material.  This is a limited recall of 22 bags of food.  Affected bags are the 15 lb.size which were sold between August 18 and August 25 in 12 Dollar General stores in Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee and Louisiana, may contain small metal fragments, which could have entered the packages during the production process.

According to the AVMA website, the Mars Company last recalled Pedigree product in June of 2012 due to the possibility that small pieces of blue plastic had contaminated the food.
