Hi, we’re joining the Meet the Blogger’s Hop today. Our hosts provided us with a list of questions to answer, but I couldn’t possibly answer all of those questions, so I picked the easy ones 🙂

I think this will be fun today – thanks to our co-hosts (listed below) for starting this!

What’s your favorite non-animal related book?
I have too many favorite books to name just one. They change over time and fade in and out of my memory. A few favorites:

  • Forever, Pete Hamill
  • The Brothers K, David James Duncan
  • Snow Falling on Cedars, David Gutterson
  • Map of the World, Jane Hamilton
  • One True Thing, Anna Quindlen
  • The Son, Philipp Meyer

What’s your favorite non-animal related movie?
The one movie I usually always stop and watch is Dances with Wolves…and maybe The Last of the Mohicans and I just watched Stripes for the 200th time last week 🙂

What’s your favorite non-animal related food?
Does that mean none of it can come from animals? Well, then chocolate of course.

Who’s your favorite actor?
Don’t really have a ‘favorite’. Enjoy movies with Kevin Kline, Kevin Spacey, Kevin Costner, Kevin Bacon…hmmm what’s up with that? Daniel Day Lewis, Johnny Depp, Denzel Washington and Ryan Gossling of course, but he’s much too young 🙂 Females? Meryl Streep, Diane Lane, Clare Danes, Kate Winslet…probably others too.

What’s one thing you have to do every day?
Take the dogs for a walk.

What do you wish you were more skilled at?
Photography or graphic design – would really come in handy on the Blog.

How is your pet most like you?
Jack & Maggie are both a little wary of strangers…

What can your body do for you that makes you most proud?
Started taking Bikram yoga three years ago and still get there 2-3 times a week. Did a 30-day challenge last year where I went everyday for 30 days!

Other than blogging, what are three things you do that bring you joy?
Playing the piano, walking the dogs, vegging out after a long day.

What’s one thing you could do to be more kind to yourself?
Get more massages & facials.

What drives you nuts about your pets?
Jack follows me everywhere.

What melts your heart?
Jack follows me everywhere.

If you didn’t have your current pets, what pets would you choose to have?
Probably just different Labradors.

Me and my shadow 🙂

The other half of the blog team, Steve – well you’ve seen his face and more…so you get only me this time around.

  1. Funny that we both had the stranger-danger answer. 🙂 I’m also an off-the-charts introvert. Just took a quicky Meyers-Briggs again the other day (did you see that on Back Alley Soapbox?) and it said I was various %’s on everything, but for “I”, I was rated 100%!

I see I have some books to add to my ridiculously long to-read list! Cute photo of you and Jack!

    • Too funny – just redid the MB too and was 100% on the I…working from home doesn’t help 🙂

  2. I also answered photography for something I wanted to improve on! Great getting to read more about you!

    • Well, that could also have gone under “Something I wish I did Better” as I don’t play very well, but I enjoy it anyways.

  6. I love Bikram! I haven’t been able to go as much lately, but I really do feel fabulous when I’m going regularly.

Happy you joined us on the hop today – loved reading more about you!

(I’m getting all sorts of books to add to my reading list today too – bonus! 🙂 )

“Dances with Wolves” had an animal in it, a friendly wolf who was shot in the end.

    I cried.

  19. I’m so glad that you joined the hop and that I got to learn more about you! Stripes is an awesome movie! I don’t watch a lot of movies but one that always sucks me in is the Godfather, all of them!

I love that Jack following you around drives you nuts and melts your heart! That’s how I feel about Sherman too!

  21. Great to read your answers. Weirdly, I read a lot but I haven’t read any of the books on your list (although I have 3 of them on my shelves!). I do like Anna Quindlen a lot and have read some of her other books.

  23. 30 days of Bikram? You are my hero !! Thanks for joining us – so fun to get to know more about you!

  24. Finally a name and a face to match the blog! LOL!
It’s great to meet the real you Kate. I love your blog and all that you do for pets and their people. I also love your movie list (I never miss Dances with Wolves if I happen to find it on tv). I also agree with your actor list (I would only add Emma Thompson. Love her!).

I feel like I know your dogs pretty well. After all, Daisy and Jack have already been introduced in our minds and had puppies. 🙂

Cupcake also follows me everywhere. I think it has a lot to do with her missing for 12 days two years ago. It melts my heart and drives me crazy, but mostly melts my heart because the feeling is mutual. I am lucky to have got her back at all.

Snow Falling on Cedars (sigh!) – Yes. I can’t believe I forgot that one.
MelF recently posted…Of Shelties and SnowflakesMy Profile

    • I know, this Hop was lots of fun. Agree about Emma T., she is great. I can’t even imagine one of my dogs missing – I’ve lost each of them a couple of times, but for 5 minutes…so nothing like 12 days.
mkob recently posted…New Year’s Resolutions For Your DogMy Profile

  25. So nice to learn more about you, Kate! I chose some of the easier questions too, though I found it impossible to narrow down favorite books. I don’t read as much as I used to and I definitely miss it. I love that you play the piano! My Mom played the piano and my sister does also. I tried it for a while but never got very good at it.
Jan K recently posted…Meet the Blogger Blog HopMy Profile

    • Oh, I didn’t say i was ‘good’ at playing the piano…just that I enjoy it 🙂 Big difference!
mkob recently posted…New Year’s Resolutions For Your DogMy Profile

  26. So many readers among us! (I don’t think this should come as a real surprise actually. 😉

I love you book choices. Well, I love the few I know so I have to add the couple that I don’t to my reading list. Snow Falling on Cedars could have been on my favorites lists, too. Hard to think of all of them, isn’t it?

Glad you joined the hop and we got to learn a little more about you. And oh yeah, that 30-day yoga thing? Wow. That’s impressive.

Thanks for joining the blog hop!!
