Jack’s Beach Adventure

SlimDoggy Jack and Maggie are both Labrador Retrievers. Supposedly Labs are big water lovers, but not these two. We take them to a stream close to our house and neither of them show much interest. We’ve taken them to the ocean before and had to really coax them into the water. Memorial Day was a beautiful sunny day, and we live only 20 minutes from the ocean…we had to go. Here’s our photos from the day. I’ll let you be the judge as to whether they had a good time or not.

Hmmm, what's that blue stuff over there?

What do you think – a successful beach day?

They didn’t get into too much mischief at the beach, just a little seaweed eating but we still want in on the Monday Mischief Hop.

  1. Maybe we could switch homes as I am a total beach loving dog and I miss the beach! You two might like the calmer lake water we have here but on the other hand I would miss my mom if I left her…let me contemplate that…mom or beach, mom or beach…I guess I better stay with mom and hope she takes me on a beach vacation. Glad you two got into the water and had some fun!

    • We’re going to go up to Big Bear lake later in the summer, so we’ll get to check out a lake, see if we like that better.

  2. Looks like a good time to me! You got some great pictures.

The brown dawgs have never been to a beach like that. I wonder what they would think of those waves? Chessies were bred to be ocean swimming dogs. Could be interesting.

    • I bet they would love it – although the waves in CA can be ferocious and you have to be pretty careful not to get totally knocked over!

  3. Looks like a good time was had by all! Finn is more of a wader than a swimmer, but he loves the beach too!

    • They would – the water is cold and the waves are rough – perfect for newfies!

  5. Awww that’s awesome! Wow! Your beach looks empty. Ours are so packed on Memorial Day we don’t even dare go down anymore, well, all summer. 🙂 I seriously need to get my boy to the beach though. Don’t think he’s ever been! 🙂

    • Yeah, there are a few stretches that are pretty empty – go early!

  6. Hi Guys,

    • He wished it was dead fish to roll in, but had to make do with the seaweed.

  7. Love it! Maybe what we really need to do is take Jeffie and Rudy to the ocean. lol

  8. Jack and Maggie are like Luna – they really could care less about splashing in the waves. 🙂
