Gotcha Day – Part 1
Hi, SlimDoggy here writing about my Gotcha Day party – a celebration of when my little sister Maggie & I were adopted. Since dad was sick (caught a cold at SuperZoo) we only had a mini-celebration and momz says next week we will do a bigger party!
For our mini-celebration, momz bought us marrow bones which we never had before. She gave them to us after dinner and let us munch on them for 15 minutes or so. Loved them…and I think there are more, so maybe we’ll have them again Sunday. Here’s some photos of Maggie and me in the front yard munching away.
On Sunday we went to a park we don’t go to very often, but it has lots of fun stuff and a really good dirt trail. Momz took lots of pictures so here’s a few shots of us on the trail sniffing and checking things out. As you can see, it’s pretty foggy with what’s called ‘marine layer’. It burns off in a few hours and gets sunny like normal. That’s the valley we live in – some of the people have horses and you can see the horse corrals.
And finally, a report on a little mischief. Actually, it’s old mischief, but we encountered the same cause on our Gotcha Walk. Many of the trails in our area have cactus…this is California after all. Usually I steer clear of the cactus, but little sis Maggie isn’t as smart or experienced as I am, so one day she went right up to a bush like this to sniff it and ended up with a snout full of prickers. She started snuffing and sneezing trying to get them out, but momz had to take each of them out individually…then of course, mom got a bunch stuck in HER. It was a mess. I just sat there and watched, okay I admit, I chuckled a little at how silly Maggie looked with those prickers in her nose.
Come back next week and we’ll report on our Gotcha Day Part 2. Maybe momz will be sick next weekend and we can have another mini-celebration – and just keep doing this EVERY weekend. That would be okay with Maggie & me!
