Give Cancer the Paw
Today is the Give Cancer the Paw Blog Hop. I understand it’s going to be the last Hop and is dedicated to our pets that have had cancer. Our Becca is my cancer hero. We’ve written about her struggles and treatment for osteosarcoma in the past here and here so I’m not going to rehash her story. What I will do is share some photos and fun times we had with Becca for the short time she was with us.
Becca loved to play. She couldn’t do too much because she had such a bad back (fused spine from being a service dog), but she was always up for a game of fetch, even at her worst. She loved her deflated soccer ball the best, but the frisbee was a good substitute.
When she got sick – reactions to the radiation and the chemo – we would snuggle her into bed with a heating pad and blankets to keep her warm as she would shiver from the cold – she just couldn’t retain her body heat.
We lost her just two years ago – taken from us to osteosarcoma quickly. But we sure loved having her with us and know we will see her again.
