Book Review: I Could Chew on This

imagesI got a great gift from my sister-in-law for Christmas. It’s a book called “I Could Chew on This…and other poems by dogs” by Francesco Marciuliano (who also wrote I Could Pee on This). It’s been out for a few years, but this is the first I saw it.

It’s a great collection of poems by dogs that I feel I have to share. Here’s a few of my favorites…it must be read with the proper dog voice of course:

Special Word

There’s a special word
We dogs have
To express our great pleasure
Upon seeing our favorite person
It’s “bark”
But be careful
For “bark”
Also means 742,000 other things
So it’s all about context

One of Jack’s favorites:

Food
Food
Food food food
Food food food food
Food food
Food

Who says a dog
Can’t write a love sonnet

Although a close second is:

Treat
How long do you
Expect me
To keep
This
Treat
On
My Nose
Before
I can
GULP
Oh, my bad
Guess we better try this trick a twelfth time

There’s plenty more – all a good chuckle, so check it out.
