I gave Jack & Maggie small knuckle bones last night as a treat. Maggie still isn’t quite sure what to do with them and sometimes she just leaves it and goes back to her bed, sometimes she chews on it a bit. and then leaves it. Last night when I went to take them from them, she was nowhere to be seen. I found her out in the middle of the backyard chewing away on the bone having a fine time for herself. For those of you with a fearful dog, these little triumphs of normal dog behavior are really special – I had to capture it on film. You can’t see the bone, but it’s there.

  2. Those are some lucky dogs to get a knuckle bones…must be from Flea? My sister loves to lie out in the middle of the lawn and eat her chews. I prefer to eat them in the house.

    • HI Emma, Jack likes to eat his inside too – he eats them right where he stands when he gets them practically!

  7. Zaphod is similar with new treats. While he is not fearful, he is cautious with everything he puts in his mouth . . . if we could all be more that way! Glad she is enjoying it now! Lee and Phod

  16. Well done Maggie! Baby steps are fine πŸ™‚ Beryl is too much of a Princess to eat bones. About once a month she might deign to eat a few chicken necks.
