  3. Hi jack, it looks like a big tree root to me. Looks cool in black and white.

  4. In MN I would say it is just a half uprooted tree, but I have seen trees like this from FL bloggers. Don’t remember what kind they are, though. Doesn’t look like the dog really cares and would just like to keep on walking!

  5. How cool, your pose is mimicking that of the shape of the tree 🙂

  9. Good question. Is that one of those dead desert trees? (It’s desert where you live isn’t it?) I’ve never been to the desert, but mom says the trees are really small and gnarly and when they die they look like driftwood.

Btw, my mom read your article about coyotes in Dogster and found it very interesting. We’re not used to coyotes here, but there are more and more coyotes in our surrounding area, so it’s good to learn about them.

    • It’s not exactly desert, but it’s pretty dry. Mostly oak trees and pepper trees…I think this might be an old oak – it’s hard to tell cause there’s mostly just scrub around it.

  11. Not sure, but my best guess is a dead one 😉
Great scenery for black and white, though.

  15. That is a very cool tree. I’d love it in my so called garden. I’m always taking photos of interesting large bits of driftwood at the beach which I’d love to bring home if they didn’t weigh about 2 tons 🙂
