Black & White Sunday 11-17-13

Here’s a photo from a few weeks ago on our Sunday morning walk. I haven’t taught her this, but Maggie always walks behind me like you see in this photo. Jack walks to my right and Maggie in back and directly behind me. Sometimes she wanders over to Jack’s right side, but most often it’s directly behind me.

She’s a quirky girl.

  1. Brychwyn and Huxley think Maggie would make an excellent herding dog!

  2. Katie almost always walks behind mom, I am always out front blazing the trail. We aren’t much for that behaved walking style of staying next to the human. She likes us to be out there exploring unless she calls us back. Nice photo of the two of them walking with you, though.

    • This is the ‘tired at the end of the walk’ position. Jack is like Emma – out front, making sure all is safe at first

  3. These guys have their spots too. Roxy wanders a little sometimes trying to pick a side.

  4. Ash likes to walk in back of us too and Teddy likes to pull us. Scout could care less where he walks as long as he can stop at every mailbox, shrub, tree and blade of grass to potty and I’m not even exaggerating!

    • Well, with a name like Scout, of course he has to scout everything out!

  5. So far that’s Asher’s favourite place to walk too. I’m hoping he will move up to be next to me as he gains more confidence 🙂 But it’s OK if he wants to stay there. I love quirky dogs 🙂

    • It is probably because she’s still uncertain – but sometimes she’s right out in front scampering around.

  7. Our little Tzu Trixie tends to do the same thing also… except she likes to nudge me along at my ankle 🙂

    • Jack does that when he’s trying to herd us into the kitchen for dinner.

  11. I like that they each have their own spot they like to walk. Ours all have to be out in front. Sheba weaves back and forth….it’s like flying a kite. LOL
