SlimDoggy | April A to Z Challenge

A2Z-BADGE-0002014-small_zps8300775cYou may have heard about the A to Z Blogger Challenge. It’s a Blogger challenge that we read about last year and thought it might be fun to participate this year. The challenge is to write a post everyday during the month of April – using each letter of the alphabet for each day of the month. We know there are 26 letters and 30 days, so you get Sunday’s off.

The Challenge is not restricted to Pet Bloggers, it’s open to any Blogger and already there are almost 1,000 bloggers that have signed up! No, you don’t have to visit all of those sites, you only are asked to visit 5 other blogs per day.

We thought it would be fun and since we are always looking for a way to get our message about pet fitness out there, especially beyond our friends in the Pet Blogger world since most of you already take fantastic care of your pets! So we signed up and hope to meet lots of new friends and new readers! We invite (encourage) you to take the challenge too. It’s potentially a great way to build your blog following and hone your blogging skills as well!

I know 26 days of blogging can be intimidating, so we thought it might be helpful to share our list of health & fitness themes with everyone in the hopes that you will write about fitness. A few of our other blogger friends have already joined including: Cascadian Nomads, Keep the Tail Wagging, Me, You & Zu and others have signed up. Cascadian Nomads has a great post up with lots of ideas for posts and our theme list is below.

SlimDoggy’s themes are mostly health & fitness of course, and some of these aren’t fully fleshed out – you will see a few TBD’s on here (to be determined). But we thought providing this list would encourage others to participate. We are also joining the Blog Hop that Cascadian Nomads & Me, You & Zu have with their ideas – please feel free to check it out and join in the fun.

  1. Totally am going to consider this for my personal blog. I have not been writing on it, but want to start again. Thanks for sharing about this. Can’t wait to read all your posts!

  3. I completely forgot about FitDog Friday turning ONE! Which is odd because one of the reasons I rushed to start my blog the first week of April last year was so that I could be a part of your important hop from the beginning. So exciting! Besides that awesome anniversary reminder, this is an excellent and very helpful list. You have also managed to do what I did with my list and have the A to Z days letter fit with other blog hops like your Tasty Tuesday and Sepia Saturday ideas! It’s going to be a fun month. of prepping then A to Z-ing. πŸ™‚

    • Hard to believe FDF is one already! Now that we have the month planned, I’m excited about getting started and hope lots of other folks join in!

  4. This sort of challenge is not for me. I don’t want the added pressure of feeling like I HAVE TO write something six days a week. That’s when blogging becomes “just another chore” and stops being a fun way to share my dogs’ antics with my friends. I started my blog as a personal journal of life with Callie and Shadow. I didn’t really expect anyone else to be interested. It has evolved a bit, but it’s still my journal to add to when I want and/or have time to do so.

    • Good idea, luckily there are two of us, so I’m hoping it’s twice as easy πŸ˜‰

  5. I’ve pondered this challenge, but if March is already indication, I think April’s maybe a bit too busy! But I look forward to seeing everyone else rise to it! Very ambitious!

  6. Excellent! So glad you’re joining A2Z again this year. You might want to hop on the March 21st A Hop Within A Hop: The A-Z Theme Reveal! — it’s a nice way to connect with other bloggers before April and grow your network, but above all to kick-start the fun πŸ™‚ Hope to see you there!

  7. This is so awesome and my timing couldn’t be better! I’m ALL in! I’ll have to put a serious thinking cap on to come up with 26 consecutive articles seeing my average article length is 1000+ words, but no one would consider killing this puppy face if I revert to 600+ word articles for April, right? πŸ˜‰

I’ll work on my planning an probably do a write-up on my planning for this event sometime during next week, during which I will then add the blog hop code to the post. Is that okay?

In the meantime I’m getting in, filling out the form as I lift my paws away from here…right about…now(ish).

  8. Yes, after careful consideration and especially considering the length of articles that don’t need to be my norm of 1000+ words, I decided to put myself up to a major challenge and enter my other site, Best Puppy Food Brands into the blog hop challenge too! Tell me I’m not crazy! πŸ˜‰

  9. Wow, you and the alphabet…something to admire. Not sure if we are up to that challenge but the idea is awesome. We have some other post commitments and Easter posts to do. We may drop by, though.
