A to Z Challenge Wrap-up

Yesterday we finished up our A to Z Challenge. It was a lot of fun and a couple of those letters presented a real challenge to come up with something that would be interesting, but also fit in with the overall SlimDoggy message of food, fitness & fun for healthy pets.

April was a really busy month for us here at SlimDoggy. Let’s review some of the things that went on this month and then wrap-up the Challenge by picking a few of our favorite and most popular posts.

In addition to participating in the A to Z Challenge this month, we also launched our new sister site, SlimKitty. The mission for SlimKitty is the same as SlimDoggy, just for cats! They deserve a healthy and fit lifestyle too and have the same issues with pet obesity. Since we don’t have cats in the SlimDoggy household, we’ve enlisted some cat relatives as mascots and will be tapping into our SlimDoggy friends who have cats to provide some much needed first-hand cat knowledge and expertise. If you are interested in being one of our SlimKitty Friends, please email us at info@slimdoggy.com.

slimDoggybluelogoThe other big news for the month is a slight redesign to our site. We amped up the color scheme a bit and moved a few things around to give it a brighter, crisper and cleaner look. We’re pretty happy with it and hope you like it. If you have any problems with anything, or can’t find something, please let us know.

We also held our one-year anniversary for FitDog Friday. We had a great giveaway with lots of cool prizes, we held a really fun FitDog Fitness Quiz and gave away $50! We also recognized 10 of our most faithful FitDog Friday Hoppers. It was a pretty fun time.

Let’s talk about the A to Z Challenge. Our most popular posts during the month were our Wordless Wednesday posts, but they are always pretty popular because of the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop. The most popular one was our WW post on Balance. Jack on the balance cushion is always a big hit.

The next three most popular A to Z posts were:

If you missed any of our posts during the month, you can catch up with all of the A to Z posts here. We hope that you enjoyed our posts this month, what was your favorite?

We’ll be back to our regular programming now with FITDOG FRIDAY tomorrow!!

  2. Thanks so much for joining the hop! I just changed my site’s background color to white. I wanted something brighter for summer. I noticed your brighter colors too. I like them. 🙂 Meant to share the slim kitty site earlier so thanks for the reminder. 🙂 April was busy for us too. May will be a killer. I plan to share more about that soon.

  4. I have a friend with an over-weight cat and they are a multiple cat family and struggling to get her weight under control. I shared SlimKitty with her in hopes it will help her out. Congrats on getting all the way through the A to Z Challenge. It was a lot of fun to participate and also to read everyone else’s creative ideas on the letters.

  7. I think SlimKitty will be a great compliment to SlimDoggy – and it will be good to have someone to advocate healthy lifestyles for cats, too. I think it’s easy for people to assume there’s not much they can do if their cat has a few extra lbs, since they don’t get daily walks like dogs and other common excuses.
Also, wanted to say I love the SlimKitty logo design!

    • Thanks for the compliments. We’re hoping to be creative and find some inspiring ways to help the kitties. Their obesity rate is higher than dogs!

    • Thanks Eko. We had to take a little creative license with some, but it all turned out.

  15. April was a great month with lots of great information as always. I had trouble keeping up with everyone’s daily A-Z posts though! Since I love gardening, I enjoyed your post about gardening a lot. I’m excited about SlimKitty and need to get working with Samantha so we’re ready for June! I look forward to learning about what other people do with their cats also.
