A Dog Friendly Home

A few months ago, we posted a fun infographic from the folks at Sainsbury’s Bank Money Matters Blog, (a provider of pet insurance). It contained some great information on different activities for your dog and the benefits to their health of exercise, indoor games, walking, etc.

Well, they are back with another helpful infographic on how you can ensure a dog friendly home. There are some great tips here on keeping Fido (or SlimDoggy Jack) safe, so be sure to read it and share with your friends and fellow dog lovers.

  1. Lots of good info there! (Must admit though… It’s never occurred to me to look in the washer/dryer for the dog before turning them on….)

    • Well, you never know…Jack wouldn’t fit, but a kitty sure would.

      • Yep… that’s why I went back and read it twice. Thought maybe it said “kitty-free” – cuz I’ve heard of that happening before – but, nope, says to make sure it’s doggy-free. I suppose it could happen… but I sure never heard of that before!

  2. We’ve had the “puppy unrolling the toilet paper” incident!! A police officer came to the door to ask about something, and I stuffed Shyla in the bedroom real quick, forgetting to close the master bath door. Ruh roh! And she had a long time to make a big (but funny) mess!

    • We’ve had paper towel destruction, but never the toilet paper.

  3. This is actually a really useful infographic. It has all the points in one place and definitely good to share.

It would be an awesome part of an email package to send to friends/family who are pet-sitting for you along with the contact details of local vet and feeding information!

  4. I learned a few things like tomato plants are toxic to dogs. But what’s this about doggy-free areas like the bedroom?!

  5. Great post! I love these infographics!

  7. I try to provide a safe home for Honey. But I’m not paranoid enough to worry about everything could go wrong.

And luckily, Honey is not the kind of dog who gets into dangerous situations.

  10. Great advice. That dryer thing is especially important with cats. I am always afraid one of them will get in there.

  11. Good tip about the washer and drier, especially if you have cats. My cat Scout loves to nap on warm clothes fresh out of the drier and I did catch him in the drier one time. Thank goodness I noticed. I always make sure to keep it closed now.
